Each of the eight teams advancing to the live final table will be comprised of the five players who scored the most points in the series of online qualifying tournaments. The live finale will be held at a ski resort in Bariloche, Argentina which is located in the Patagonia region of the country near the Andes Mountains. At the end of the three weeks of online tournaments the two countries with the most wins in each heat will advance to the live final round. At the end of each week, the country with the most points in the head to head match will be declared the winner. Points will be awarded to the top 100 finishers in each event.Įach week the countries will go head to head with a different opponent until the four countries in each heat have faced off against one another. The countries will be divided into four heats of four countries and the tournaments will be open to anyone from the countries participating in a given heat. Tournaments began on Monday July 27th and will run until August 16th. The event will take place in two stages that will require players to succeed at an online table and then translate that success over to a live tournament setting.įor the first portion of the America’s Cup, players from sixteen countries will compete in three weeks of daily online tournaments with buy-ins ranging from freeroll through $0.20 to $5.50. Players from all over North, Central and South America will have an opportunity to flaunt their poker skill in the upcoming America’s Cup of Poker hosted by PokerStars.
